Welcome to Natureworld, George!

Meet our newest addition, George! George’s mum was sadly hit by a car so this little guy is now in the care of our amazing staff at East Coast Natureworld. George will also act as an ambassador to educate visitors about ‘roadkill’, a significant issue here in Tasmania and the single greatest risk to the health of our native wildlife.

At Naturewold, we encourage people to only drive during daylight hours to minimise the roadkill toll. If you do happen to accidentally hit an animal, and if it’s safe to do so, stop and check the pouch for a live joey. Drag the dead animal off the road so that other carnivores like Tasmanian Devils and Quolls don’t get run over too.

Natureworld does not receive any funding from the government and relies solely on people coming to visit to support our animal conservation work. So if you would like to support us in the work we do in conservation and education, please come and visit (and meet George!), or make a donation via our website.
